Thoughtful poem sent from New Zealand...

Created by the McGrath family 11 years ago
Kyla has lived in New Zealand ever since 1995 when she first went there to visit my parents in Dunedin. My dad was on a sabbatical year and working there. She eventually settled into life as a "kindie" teacher (Kindergarten) in Auckland, and has been there ever since. Despite living in probably the absolute furthest place from Canada possible (!), Mummy delighted in orchestrating ways to keep the family together- be it through funding trips for Kyla back to Canada in the summers or actually travelling themselves to New Zealand. One year Ilana travelled from Qatar and my parents came from Canada for a summery Christmas in New Zealand! This touching poem came in a sympathy card from Kyla's former centre manager in Auckland: "I Am With You Still" I give you this one thought to keep I am still with you -- do not weep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone -- I am with you still -- in each new dawn.
