I had the good fortune of meeting Joan when she was paired up as my traveling partner on an overnight bus trip to the Niagara-on-the Lake and the Shaw Festival. Joan was the perfect companion , never complaining, always seeing the positive side, and appreciating the artistic parts of the trip. I was delighted at her talent, making good tea in the hotel coffee maker. She will be missed.
